Search Engine Optimization
Search Engine Optimization boils down to three main components: On-Page factors, Content, and Linking. Below are a bunch of
resources we recomend.
Web CEO - We highly recomend this software because of how many different things it does. It can check many of the
on-page factors and provide recomendations on how to improve. As a bonus, it serves as a great FTP program. It also seems to have
a very intensive training program that goes with it.
Web Position Gold - We use this for checking our search engine rankings. Web CEO also does this, but we like the way
WPG prints out better, especially for when we are meeting with clients. It also comes with a cool "Link Defender" program that checks
all the links on a site to make sure none are broken. Click here for free trial.
ARELIS and IBP - For link checking, we have been using ARELIS for years. It seems to have a nice interface to
find who is linking to you (or a competitor). Yet, it does not check anchor text, which is becoming more and more important. They
also offer IBP, which submits you to multiple search engines.
Link Harvester - Provides valuable information on who is linking to you (or your competitors).
Keyword Density - Free tool that shows how often you are using a keyword phrase.
Anchor Text Backlink Checker - Shows what words are being used by those that link to you.
Keyword Density Analysis Tool - Shows which keyword phrases are used on a page and how much.
Cool SEO Tool - Strange name. Yet it does so many different useful things. I'm not sure what else it could
be called.
SEO Book - Great resource for learning SEO - on your own.
